Member Code of Conduct

The Manitoba Writers’ Guild (“MWG”) is committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, respectful, and safe space where individuals can express themselves artistically and engage in constructive dialogue. The MWG does not condone hate speech, harassment, abuse, or violence in any form including but not limited to racism, xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or sexism.

As a member of the MWG, you agree that you will conduct yourself with respect and due consideration for others while participating in MWG programming and events, in person or online.

As a member of the MWG, you agree that you will not use MWG information, materials, photographs or any other content for commercial or secondary promotional use without express written permission from the MWG

As a member of the MWG, you agree that you will embrace the MWG’s commitment to fostering a safe space by:

  • Inclusion:  You agree to honour inclusivity when participating in MWG events by supporting the dignity of all people regardless of age, health status, ability, gender, sex, sexual orientation, language, ancestry, nationality, religion, or socioeconomic status.
  • Respect: The MWG does not tolerate harassment or discriminatory language, including but not limited to racism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, ageism, or ableism. You agree that you will treat all members, volunteers and MWG affiliates with respect.
