David Yerex Williamson

David Yerex Williamson is a college administrator, instructor, public speaker and poet living in northern Manitoba on the banks the Nelson River on Treaty 5 Territory of the Aski Inniwak Kinasao Sipi (Norway House). After a few Fringe plays and a brief foray into self-publishing, he began submitting to literary publications. David’s recent works have appeared in FreeFall, The Dalhousie Review, Prairie Fire, The Antigonish Review, The New Quarterly, The Broken Spine, Prairie Journal of Literature, Contemporary Verse 2 and others. His latest book, Through Disassembled Houses of Perfect Stones, was released by At Bay Press in 2022. His latest selection of poems, “Ghosts Your Heart Learns to Hear,” will be published in SubTerrain in Spring, 2026 and “In the Morning” will be featured in Poetry Pause: Fresh Voices in June, 2026.  David is a member of the League of Canadian Poets, The Writers Union of Canada and is a director with Manitoba Writers Guild. David is currently completely a new collection on the impacts of addiction, mental health and relationships. When not teaching, writing or drawing, David shovels snow, cuts wood and chases his dogs along the historic Nelson River.
