Fisher Lavell is a working-class writer from Swan River, Manitoba. She has professional publications in her field, counselling and psychology, but her true loves are fiction and memoir. Her first novel, A Seven Year Ache, was shortlisted for the Margaret Laurence Award for Fiction and her second novel, Three Days Till Rapture, won the American Working Class Studies Association’s Tillie Olsen Award. She has always had dogs, big dogs, and swears that her boxer, Edgrrr, can fly.
