Marlene Schellenberg

she / her

Marlene grew up in rural Manitoba and has lived in Winnipeg most of her adult life. She became a French Immersion school teacher in St. Boniface, moved over to the English classroom and serendipitously finished her career teaching English in the same school where Manitoba’s own Joan Thomas and the Guild’s former President Sharon Hamilton taught. She is hoping their writing success will rub off on her. After retiring, Marlene began studying creative writing with Dave Williamson of “The Dave”, Marjorie Anderson, and Di Brandt. With encouragement from these writers, she is completing her first novel. While she scribbles away, she is pleased to serve as the Secretary of the MWG Board of Directors.
