Brenda Sciberras

Brenda Sciberras is an award-winning poet, living in Winnipeg. Her first poetry collection, Magpie Days (Turnstone Press) won the Eileen McTavish Sykes Award for Best First Book at the Manitoba Book Awards 2015 and she was also nominated for the John Hirsch Award for Most Promising Manitoba Writer. Her poetry has appeared in several Canadian literary journals including: CV2, Room of one’s own, Prairie Fire, The Literary Review of Canada, Rhubarb and The New Quarterly. Along with the anthologies; A/Cross Sections: New Manitoba Writing (MWG), Heartwood: Poems for the Love of Trees (LCP) and I Found it at the Movies: An Anthology of Film Poems (Guernica Editions). Her most recent book of poetry, Starland, was launch with Turnstone Press in 2018.
