Board of Director Nominees

Lisa Bukoski

I work as a policy analyst for the Manitoba Government. In between policy work I coordinate various employee committees to promote inclusion, allyship, and diversity. As the founder and policy chair of WAVE, our 2SLGBTQIA+ employee network, I develop strategic initiatives to raise awareness and foster a supportive community.

Since joining the Guild this summer, I actively participate in the Nominations and Governance Committee and recently the DEI Committee. Volunteering has always been a significant part of my life. I’m also involved in my neighbourhood resident’s association to plan events and organize volunteers.

I hold a Political Science degree and a certificate in Human Resource Management from Red River Polytech. I’m a lifelong learner and an avid reader who enjoys fiction and staying updated on current events. I also love supporting the arts and visiting galleries whenever I travel.

Brenna Dixon

Brenna Dixon is originally from the eastern coast of Nova Scotia and now resides in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Social Anthropology from Dalhousie University, and a Juris Doctorate from Dalhousie Schulich School of Law. She is a practicing lawyer, long distance runner, and lover of all things macabre. Brenna is an author of fiction, writing primarily horror and dark fantasy. She enjoys gloomy walks in the rain, the adrenaline of a good scare, and hopes to inspire readers to leave an extra light on.

Luke Dondo

Luke is a writer based in Winnipeg. Introduced to fantasy novels in his youth, he developed a lasting love for books, the art of storytelling, language, and the people daring enough to experiment with it all. Since committing to writing fiction seriously in 2016, Luke has written fifteen unpublished novels, twelve picture book texts, numerous short stories, and one self-published novella. While he is well-versed in rejection, Luke remains steadfast in his passion for building a career in the field he loves most.

Luke has proudly served on the MWG Board since March 2025 and leads the Guild’s Beta Reader Service. He has been a member of the Guild since April, 2023, is a father to two crazy kiddos, and has loved the same woman since 2014.
