Gabriele Goldstone writes the middle-grade and YA novels that she wanted to read while growing up in Canada as the daughter of European immigrants. Topics include: Communism, Naziism and war. Her new novel, Waltraut, which explores the immigration experience, is launching at McNally Robinson bookstore in Winnipeg on Sept. 7.
